Description
I seem to go one of two ways -- curvy chicks and tikis, or sea creatures. Why not both?All of the fish depicted herein are real fish, some gorgeous and some downright bizarre. I don't think I have the gumption on this hot and lazy evening to list all those creatures, but maybe I will do so later for the sake of niceness.
Painted on recycled canvas with acrylics.

Bringing together your curvy chick, tiki and sea creatures is an excellent idea. I like the juxtaposition of different levels -- sky, land, sea surface and underwater. Congratulations.

Heyy! I saw that big gray fish at an aquarium the other day....and decided it was far and beyond the oddest-looking fish I've ever seen. I'd never even heard about them 'til then. And now here he is. Funny world.
Also, I'm lovin' the surface of the sea in this one.

Thanks! That big guy is a sun fish, or mola mola. They're huge, and yes, totally odd looking, which is why I love them. They actually have a way of communicating with seagulls to tell them to help clean off deep sea parasites that the gulls like to eat. I'm a nerd, of course, but it's a pretty cool fish.

I love that you know all that. I'm pro-nerd. Do you know why they call them sun fish? I remember thinking that was a strange name for them.

That's a good question, I don't know. Maybe their round shape? I do know that their name is especially interesting because they have a similar symbiotic relationship with the Half-Moon fish who, like the seagulls, eat the parasites the sun fish collect. It's like the sun fish go through a big car wash. I just think it's funny, the sun fish and the half moon fish are pals.

Speaking of reef-life, I recently went to an educational Imax movie with my daughter and the film was on ocean-life and it was so magically beautiful! I love the ocean even though I've only been to the ocean twice in my life and neither time did I have the opportunity to see any fish or anything.

Nice! Those are some really pretty fish. I especially like that blue and purple on on the right. The highlights of the orane on the purple look really good.

Thanks! I'll be putting it up as a print as soon as I can get my lazy butt to the local print shop -- there are very few on the island who do work I can get behind, but I no longer trust online print sources. I'll let you know when they're ready!

These fish are crazy! I'm always shocked that the stuff that lives in the ocean is weirder than anything we could come up with.
I love the composition of this one, the shadow of the tiki rock underwater. Makes the water look especially clear Of course I'm mesmerized by the symmetry of your waves. 
Damn, you should join your tiki girl/ocean fauna forces more often! I like the fade from style to style.
