(2018), 4"x2", Delica beads, seed beads, Fireline


Spring panels (metallic dark olive, white lined grass green, white-lined olive, white-lined mauve, transparent pink, light pink ab, matte salmon ab)

Summer panels (matte light gold, silver-lined dark violet, silver-lined red, silver-lined orange)

Fall panels (matte dark bronze, white-lined dark amber, white-lined light amber, yellow ab)

Winter panels (white ab, light mint ab, light transparent turquoise, transparent teal, matte baby blue ab)

Connector beads (size15 transparent grey ab and size 11 transparent grey ab seed beads)


So this has been my way of coping with my husband religiously watching the World Cup - my first beaded kaleidocycle featuring the four seasons. The whole thing is constructed from 4 sets of 6 triangles with a pattern of pink irises, swirls, honey-combs and cracked ice respectively - 24 triangles in total. They are connected by rows of neutral-tinted beads and can be rotated to show different patterns. It's been fun sharing sofa space with my better half cursing and cheering and my beads happily oblivious on my lap-tray...

Oh yes, we used to play that in school back when I was a kid in Germany. It was called "Himmel und Hoelle" - heaven and hell, because we'd paint one set red and one blue, and if you hit the red you'd be in hell. Fun!
