Description (2009), 9" x 12", pencil on paper.

Twilight's Bella and Edward, though I must confess that I have neither read the books nor watched the movie. This was a request to donate a piece of artwork to the Summer School in Forks Twilight Symposium. [link]

It was a nice challenge to keep my drawing skills limber and to try some serious drawing of hands, new faces and some cool clothes and background.

I don't like the Twilight series, nor do I value it, I didn't like the movie either and I don't like the actors (OK, except Carlisle, Carlisle was <333), but I have to applause you, this picture is beautiful <3 You keep gettin better at this, are you ever gonna stop being so perfect? xD

This is a great pic!! I have seen other artists try to draw them and they don't do them justice, but then they didn't have your skill!! I don't think there is a pic I do not like of yours!!

Thanks! I do like vampires, but I think I've kind of gone beyond the stage where a high-school romance is something I really want to read about or get into - I guess I'm finally showing my age...

Eh, I'd say your preference is showing, and it's like mine. As far as concerns vampire novels anyway (most of them seem like thinly disguised 'allegories', thus immensely annoying because I dislike being told what to think). Though I am not above high school books with romances in them and other fluffy fiction, the only vampire book I've read is Robin McKinley's 'Sunshine' and that MANIFESTLY is no high-school romance. There is no high school, and no vamp-romance. It's a nicely adult novel.

strangely enough, my favorite parts are her hands, and the arms of the blazer, particularly the cuffs... not sure why... it just looks so warm and comfy.

it does take time. i can do the hands in most poses, and i can do the faces in some poses... its the in between that mucks me up, lol.

Heh, I find it ironically strange that I've never read the books nor seen the movie either, but....I still had a dream one night that was influenced by Twilight. A dream that gave me inspiration for a very good original story of my own.

Oooo. Not a fan of Twilight but this is nicely done. I think that Edward looks a bit like Christopher Walken. Although that is quite an attractive combination

LOL! I looked again and I think you're right. It was totally unconscious, though I must confess I saw "Sleepy Hollow" the other night, and thought how Lady van Tassel would have made the most perfect Narcissa for the new HP movie...

Nice... if you have not seen anything about the new Dorian Grey movie the actor for Dorian is the one from Prince Caspian...talk about *drool* I would love to have seen him in the HP movies just once...I dunno he would have been a great Barty. Although I can't willingly replace David Tennant.
