Another one of my recent Kumihimo projects: I started out with a bought focal bead with a beautiful combination of metallic teals, blues and purples accented by cream and olive. I translated the color scheme into a 16 strand 4 color cord with a continuous cream spiral against a sequence of olive/ purple, olive/teal and teal/purple twists.

I then used a slightly modified interrupted Cellini Spiral technique that I recently explored for some bracelets and that picks up on the colors to serve as a very elaborate bail for the art glass focal bead.

It was really fun to use that may different techniques (braiding, circular Peyote and a bit of wire-work) and materials to put together a piece that still feels very unified because of the repetition of the original colors of the accent bead.
