Thank you! And I must say I definitely had a Romulan bird of prey in mind when I saw the pattern - and then somehow the colors just went along and did their own thing... Maybe one day I just have to give the shape another try and keep my fingers firmly around a green bead bottle... Glad you like it.

This one is actually a stitching, not a weaving technique, which personally I find easier because there are not a lot of threads to tie up afterwards. If you are interested have a browse in my scaps, I have uploaded both tutorials and patterns that show the process.

Are those real garnet and turquoise beads or the color name? The design reminds me of that "tribal" desing motif common in tattoos. But I like yours way more.

Thank you! And no, unfortunately they are only glass, but I sometimes find that gemstones are the best way to describe the color hues as exactly as possible. I wish they made those small beads from precious stones, though...

Danke! Ich finde diese abstrakten Muster faszinierend, weil man in ihnen so viele verschiedene Dinge sehen kann.

A Romulan Bird of Prey.....Hmmmmm....A bird lizard or a lizard bird. Do you have any idea how geologically astute that is. Not to mention it is a nice piece of work.

I like that, one can see so many different shapes in these abstract patterns.

Hmm! Quite good as always! But why is it called Raptor? As far as I know it is some kind of dinosaurus...Isn't it? (velociraptor, oviraptor ect.)
π: 0 β©: 1
Ellygator In reply to anticia [2007-04-04 22:35:05 +0000 UTC]
Well, a raptor is a predatory dinosaur or any kind of bird of prey - I was thinking of the bird variety here, but of course modern birds are the direct descendents of dinosaurs....

Great piece, I'm curious if you have ever thought of making one to go on the upper arm? I would think the 'concept' of doing so would be the same as this just on a larger scale.

Ellygator In reply to SKoriginals [2007-04-04 22:40:50 +0000 UTC]
Thank you! Actually someone suggested this before, and I think if I can work something elastic into the closure (so you can flex your arm) it should be possible.
