Description (2021) 5 1/2" x 10 1/2" Pencil, ink and acrylics on paper.

This is the first card used for a Geomancy reading. A Geomantic figure is made up of 4 lines of either a single or a pair of dots, for example this is the figure for albus:

The dots can be created in a variety of ways, the traditional method is to poke random sets of holes in the ground and count them up. An uneven number will result in a line with a single dot, an even number in a line with a pair of dots.

My deck will use a drawing of cards. This card is the one for a single dot line.

After creating two black and white Tarot decks I though it was time for a little color, so for this deck I've taken some inspiration from illuminated manuscripts, and I'll stretch my technique by using acrylics, which is a new approach for me. I'm usually more comfortable with dry media, such as pencils, pastels and crayons.
