Description BHB stands for "Big holed bead"

Look at the mirror finish!
It' sonly my first try, and I can only get better!
Apparently, the shine goes silver, and other colours too...but I want to get it more consistant.

If you look REALLY close, you can see me in there! Behind a camera of course...

Hooray, another bumpy one! I think the mirrored bumps look better with the other colors encroaching in on them.

Beautiful! The yellowish part looks like trees to me, and I love the contrast of the bubbles!

wow.. i was just wondering? I assume you make the spheres first then poke them into the bead? (sorry for the non-technical language!)

*grin*
NOpe Those 'spheres" are just dots.
They LOOK like ball bearings in the glass though, eh?

So, I dab a bit of glass on the ivory, and melt it so it looks like a half sphere.

Neat Elly!

What size mandrel did you use?

A while back I was using some seriously large mandrels - ring size. Lots of fun.

I believe this is a 1/4 inch.
I'm making a bunch of bhb's, because I'm looking to line them.

Line them with... metal?

tubing. yes.
Like pandora beads.
NOrtel is developing a bead liner press that they're going to let me try for a bit. I'm preparing for it.

Coolness.

So did you sign up for Nortel to send you things to try or was it more like they met you in some glassy back alley in trench coats and said, "Pstt! Hey lady, wanna try something?"

ellyloo In reply to AJGlass [2009-04-11 12:05:47 +0000 UTC]
