Here are a few quick WIP shots of my bandai RG GP01 and Kotobukiya Mechanical Chain Base(003) both in their bare plastic glory. i plan on weathering the gundam, giving the hanger a full paintjob and maybe some bonus detail. i even have anther RG gundam finished(freedom) but wanted to wait for the base to be done, as i plan on getting my moneys worth outta the hanger. i found it on a crazy sale so it probably will not be hard for me to get $10 worth of fun and photos out of it.anywho i have been pretty swamped by life the last couple of weeks but hopefully once i get the base done and get a bit more productive ,ill finish up some builds i have had going in the background. i have the hanger just about done so hopefully over the weekend have some more mecha to show off.

thanks buddy, always wanted one of these hanger base things but they sometimes are $$$ and too small for one to house a MG. anyways getting bit by the 1/144 bug, led me to pick one up. hopefully ill get some shots of the finished hanger tonight.

You know, you could build your own hangars if you want.....OR you could do a battlefield condition type hangar
( see pics of the battle of Guadalcanal to see what I mean )
I may build my own... I'm not sure. But I may invest in a few....I'll have to look around to see what's out there..
you know I love your builds.....even the ones that makes me do quad-takes.....

yea i am still plotting but have big ideas now that own one section XD
very cool dude, you can find them even on amazon....unfortunately they are on the smaller side and you would need at least two for a MG gundam. it would take at least one bag of thicker stock to even think about getting one built up from scratch as well.

hahaha yea that's what was thinking with the hip skirt too. gotta be the smallest on any mecha i have ever built. still its up there on my personal list of favorite designs for gundams.

Are you planning on making a Diorama or no? If so, you should gussy up that RG frame with additional pistons, cables, etc. I'm sure there are some modeling contests around that you can enter it in to as well. Anyway, just looks like you're going that direction from pictures lol.

I plan on using the hanger as a backdrop for alot of future projects, and hopefully will have the life of a diorama.there are other "chain bases" and they all connect, i plan on slowly picking them up and adding to it(maybe even build a section from scratch )hopefully when it gets big enough to house a MG, ill thank about maybe submitting to a contest.

Very nice work. I should really get back into making Gundams again. Quanta was the last one I did a few years ago. Now I'm just used to making my own mechs.

ahhhh cool! i really love building gundams and are a great change of pace for me. they have come along way and there are some really nice kits out there you would have tons of fun with. i would really recommend one of these RG gundams as they are pretty cheap and feature great detail.
