Description
๐๐ข๐๐ก๐ค๐๐ค๐ฃ is an extinct genus of macairodontine felids, which inhabited the Americas between 2.5 and 0,01 millions of years ago. It was a massive carnivore (maximum length: 4,6 fts, weight: 661,39 lbs), capable of subduing large animals with its powerful limbs and hypertrophied upper canines, that could measure up to 7.87โ in length. For this reason, they are called saber-toothed "tigers", although they are not directly related to true pantherines. The largest fossil collection of this predator corresponds to hundreds of individuals of ๐๐ข๐๐ก๐ค๐๐ค๐ฃ ๐๐๐ฉ๐๐ก๐๐จ from the La Brea Tar Pits, in Los Angeles (USA). One of them was donated by the University of California toย

๐๐ง๐๐๐๐ก๐๐จ y ๐. ๐ฅ๐ค๐ฅ๐ช๐ก๐๐ฉ๐ค๐ง han sido registradas en la Cueva del Zumbador (Estado Falcรณn), Inciarte (Perijรก, Edo. Zulia) y Orocual (Maturรญn, Edo Monagas).
