I think he's looking very teen-ish! Nice work<3 I really like how the shading and veins are coming along in his face too.

Thanks, I was afraid that he will look too girlish because of softening of the features (he already looked like my cousin's wife) but these imperfections make him manly enough (I hope). I started working on his teeth 2 days ago and now he looks like a dork

Amazing work! and it looks much more like a teen now.
Your work on the skin is really great. I love those slight veins on the sides of the nose.
Very well done!

Thank you for these kind words. I tried to retain the realism of the face while shaving the age revealing details as much as possible. I am still not entirely satisfied with the ears and the nose, they just seem too "nice" maybe I should add some more pores in the nose?

I think he could do without these veins as they are also located in subdermal layer ([link] - the middle one) and will be rendered anyway when I import it to Maya. I think that I will have to repaint the outer texture more to block the things that are underneath.

I hope you don't mind if I keep you updated about my progress with this character? You've been giving me some of the best feedback on this character

First of all, I thank you very much, that you are keeping me updated. Usually we do see here only finished works, and I appreciate to see different states of a work in progress very much. Not only, that I am fascinated to watch other people's creative process, but I also learn for myself out of it - in a way, that it sharpens my view
I already saw on your works, that it is really difficult to find the right balance between details of youth and realism. Especially when it comes to the skin. On one hand a young skin looks very smooth, but you also have to add enough pores / structure to make it realistic enough. To add some more pores to the nose, sounds like a good idea to me. When I look at old photos of mine at the age of a teen, there were also seen some more pores on the sides of the nose ( the part between sides of the nose and cheeks ).

I am really a fan of the veins, as it already needs a very sharp look to recognize. The only thing I found is, that they maybe look a bit too symmetric in structure and its course.

You did a really great job on your model so far, and I am looking forward to see how you will go on!
