Sorry to anyone who notices, I've been shown at least 2 other creatures from other places which bear a weird if general resemblance to this design. I'd never seen either of them before, so I'm really disappointed that it could turn out looking so derivative without my knowledge. Now I'm a bit sad over it so I will probably make an alternative form if I can come up with anything else that doesn't look like someone else's creation. i wonder if it's possible.

Obviously she's an AB mainly built for speed and agility, her pale and grayish coloring also contributes to being phantomlike. Her offense is focused on the long blades of the 'wing' appendages and can grow some other spikes when needed.
I always find it weird that Miria is an offensive type, yet her special power and strategy is really more a defensive one... and doesn't rely on brute force.
***PS Oh yeah, I'd appreciate if you didn't alter or claim my AB designs as your own or whatever, since I consider it only half 'fanart' and I work really hard on creature designs, it's kinda my... thing.

I believe the utmost important thing to keep in mind is to do it for the sake of having fun above anything else, and you seem to thoroughly enjoy the craft, and constantly practice it as a whole so... isn't that a good thing? Even if "not serious"?

Nah, it doesn't always have to be serious. I just draw for fun a lot of the time, I draw fanart because it allows me to draw and not have to be serious all the time. But I still hate that feeling of not having enough time to really concentrate hard on something, you know?

Hm idk if anyone else does this but, I draw mostly on a cliboard or sketchbook, but my pencil pressure is way too hard, so I need to put paper underneath where I'm drawing so it doesn't bleed to the other side. So then, I use sketches I don't really think had a chance to be good (since I throw nothing away, artwise) and I noticed how one of them, even for a throw away, was just... repulsive. so I tried to re-do that and continue on it (it was about a year old) and... well it's not that great but I've been having fun XD
...Well you'll get your chance sooner or later, right? Maybe you can work on something bit by bit when that feeling arises? Does it really have to be finished in one sitting?

SPHINX MIRIA! SHE LIVES
I guess Miria really IS a kitty cat, then? XD
But all jokes aside, this is a surprisingly awesome take on Awakened Miria; the leaner musculature, especially on the hind legs, and the streamlined blades on the forelegs, all indicate that this is very much a monster of speed, aided by the eagle talons which prompted me to make the above Sphinx Miria crack. It fits surprisingly well, which makes me consider how she really might be kind of cat-like after all.
Shading is awesome as usual, but what got my attention was Miria's expression. I imagine that, when she awakened, her hatred for Ophelia and the Organization became manifest, like Agatha and her own repression, and the expression reminds me of that.

If the person who commissioned it isn't happy, there's nothing for us to say. But 75 dl's and going strong means you did something right with the design.
Y'know, I was browsing through the newer CM art here and there were some pretty good stuff on display. And tbh, had been tossing around the idea of commishing a watercolorist for CM art. But pics like the above are the reason I haven't. You put your heart and soul into your fanart, it shows, and it's what the others lack. And those baroque flourishes.

I love monsters and creatures, I was drawing animals way before I learned to draw people in any sense. Tho there is more of that stuff on my non-fanart account

same here. then I got into comics and started to draw people. now I draw them almost exclusively but draw beast and monsters every once in awhile. the arm things are like blades for slashing since she's still a warrior type. I tried to retain her humanity in my awakened version. always thought riful, priscilla and ophelia were beautiful in their awakened states. why shouldn't the others be too? so that's how I went with my claymore awakened designs.

I sucked at drawing people until I was college pretty much, and took a lot of life drawing classes. I just always liked animals a lot more than people and didn't care to draw anything else,
Ophelia is one of my fave AB designs definitely. Tho her face still looks very creepy, she's sexy in a weird monster sorta way. XD I did my AB Teresa differently than the others, she has both a half-awakened and full awakened form, and even when full awakened her face never distorts other than the eye color. Which symbolizes her absolute control over her power, and the 'faint smile' bit she is famous for... But Teresa would be an odd one anyway, AB Teresa would likely have had even more power than Prissy.
I distorted Miria a bit more making her form pretty much in service to whatever gives her the most speed.

I didn't get into humans until x-men came out in the 90's. then I drew them a ton. especially cyclops, rogue and wolverine. that's when I got into comics basically.
I agree on teresa, she'd be stronger then pris and equally beautiful in her awakened state. personally i didn't think sophie's face that freaky until she got pissed and went more fishy. otherwise she still retained most of her appearance really.
think I remember that teresa one, was interesting looking if i remember right.
