On October 22, 2017, we're in La Plata MO to chase trains. With us trackside & many others on the Virtual Railfan Railcams online, we caught Amtrak Train #3, The Westbound Southwest Chief, from Chicago IL to Los Angeles CA. The train was running over 2 hours & 35 minutes late as it pulls in to the station. The power is 2 P42DC's which had been a main staple on all Amtrak Trains. By this point, the Genesis had been replaced on regional trains with the Siemens SC-44 Charger Locomotives. It'll only be a matter of time before the genesis would be withdrawn from Service.evangaines 2023
