Description
On the morning of May 8, 2003, we're on BNSF's Southern Transcon in La Plata MO to chase trains. Soon, we catch Amtrak Train #3, the Westbound Southwest Chief, from Chicago IL to Los Angeles CA. The train is running on schedule & is making time behind 4 P42DC's. Bringing up the rear of the consist is several XpressTrak Reefers, MHC Boxcars, & a few RoadRailers all full of Express Freight & Mail bound for Hollywood. The mail Contract in Amtrak would end in 2005 & all Reefers & Boxcars would be put into storage.evangaines 2023
