Torg Eternity: The Fires of Ra

Done for the Torg Eternity adventure, The Fires of Ra, this piece features the Nile Empire signature character, The Shroud, encountering the Omegatron, a particularly powerful and nasty weird science device of nefarious origin. Creating the 1930's-era pulp technology in the background was a lot of fun, as was getting to feature one of the game's most recognizable iconic characters. I wanted to light him directly with light coming from the sarcophagus itself, however, the interior is described as leading to an inky black void, so I ended up lighting him from behind, instead, which worked pretty well to create contrast. The real trick, however, became showing his horrified expression given that he, basically, doesn't have a face. Ah, the challenges of fantasy illustration!
