Nice!!! simple and clean. Nice modelling, and fine rendering! Def. eyecandy

Q: How did u do the lighting/shading??
Maybe u have any tips or tutorials. Coz I cant get it to work quite well. Reason is, that the white/greyish look is totally nice. Enhances a simple object.
PLZ reply.....

I used final gather lighting in that work, just a single light emitting plane i believe. As for shadeing thats a little more complicated. I think I combined a bunch of the leather texture that comes with maya for the bump map and simple gradients (top to bottom) for the colour. Hope that helps.

I used very basic materials, most of it is without textures, I rely more on modeling and lighting.

You'd have to ask +zeruch, its his design after all.

Scatch that, that reply was for someone else.

But to answer your question properly, the textureing in this cobinations of inbuilt maya textures. theres also a fair bit of post work in photoshop in there.

Sure you can, just don't make it too muc the same and send me a note if you post it here.

Of course. It just seems like something that might be in a child's dream. In Wonderland, or Never Land, or maybe the Chocolate Factory. ANd you have some of the most unique and unlikely things in your art. One of my very favorites of your is the Pet Squid. That is hilarious. I laugh every time I look at it. Have you ever seen any art by Shaun Tan? He's a children's book artist in Australia. There is a book he made called the Lost Thing, that reminds me of your art a little.

very nice Although I think lowering the eccentricity of the blinn textures, or perhaps just using a lambert, would have made it look a tad more organic (if that was what you were going for, i dunno)

evilhomer145 In reply to RYE-BREAD [2005-04-30 00:05:47 +0000 UTC]

It is a lambert texture, I was going for organic shapes with a non organic texture.

You know, I really like the freestlye modelling that you've done here. Also, the way that you've offset the image is very pleasing to the eye.

Very well done.
