I dedicate this drawing to my cousin who is a devoted Wizard of Oz fan and this pic was made for his birthday. (lol it was for his 25th birthday but it long ago pass! sorry cousin for the looooong delay! )
This project had so many colors I won't be able to name all of them. And in fact I'm not use to using this much colors so I surprise myself. I tried to used inspiration from MGM movie since I never read the original book. I wanted to use all the famous images the movie brought like the twister and the wicked witch of the east legs sticking out underneath, as well as the color changing horse and the mean apple trees but I realize that the way I position the characters that would be quite difficult to do. So I just use all the main characters (minus the actual Wizard!) Also by the time I was inking the characters I realize I left out the ruby slippers! Their the most iconic image of the movie and I forgot to put them on Dorothy! so I decided to have the good witch of the North to just hold them so they are in there! XD
If the picture seems too bright sorry, I am using a new scanner at my school and while it can scan larger pictures, it seems to brighten the colors abit, so I hope the details can still be seen. But I am glad on how it came out and so far its been my biggest project. Now I can't wait for the next big project.
