The world changes, it is inevitable. All eras must come to a close, all reigns must come crashing down. When night falls for one, a new dawn arises for another. Every end opens a void to be filled, and many are eager to take up the mantle. Of all the scurrying, wanting beasts, only one will be able to claim the throne. What hope does such a small primitive thing have, dwelling in the graveyard of titans? Alone, they are pitiful, but they do not fight this battle by themselves. She was there that day, cutting down the rabble and lifting us high, all so that we may take our rightful place. Do you truly think we gained all this alone? Who do you think carried us when the sky turned to flame? Who guided us in the world of ash and bone? Who sheltered us as the earth froze and buried the dead kings beneath tombs of ice? She did. The blind Mother stands on high, carrying the future within her swollen flesh.

I recall at some point someone mentioned that a lot of the dimensional horrors out there mainly use arthropod and cephalopod characteristics, and you don't get too many that lean hard towards other animal groups. One of the mentions was mammals, and that made me wonder what monstrosity one could make purely out of mammalian parts. So I decided to have fun and slap a bunch of mammalian bits together. The weirder, the better!
