well i was trying to do something completely different with this one but i ended up getting annoyed with it and started to play around with some symetry....this is the product of my playing
you might have to fullview this one because ive added some scan lines to it and they tend to look crap unless the image is fullviewed

I like those scan lines.
kinda reminds me of the trees in that lord of the rings movie.. only turned to the dark side.

This is very cool, plays tricks on the eyes, everytime I look at it I see the ridge of an occipital bone, then a cheek bone starts to appear in its place. It looks like the living entrance to the lair of a mechanical god.

Yeah, this is first rate - there's something about those globes?/eyes?/embryos? that tempts you to look closer, even though you know you shouldn't (thinks of Alien...)

the textures are great! everything is sharp and nice to see, but i feel like something is missing... or is it that something should be taken off?

i like the top left corner. its wonderful. and the background. i agree with removing the half-thingies... looks contrived. detracts from the one in the center. especially because there's two half thingies... if there was one, it might help break the image a bit better, and if there were none, then the focus would be drawn to the center more than spread out around the image... and, considering the thing in the top left, it would work very well compositionally, in my opinion.

I like the textures and the 'object' in the center. I'm not sure if the half-sized versions on the side (as you refer to it as symm) add something to the scene. Try making a version without them.. might look better or at least less artificial (forced)
