Description This is sort of an experiment and a work in progress as well. The characature of Kurt Vonnegut is based on his own Self Portrait Doodle that many publishers choose to put on his books. I got the idea for the background material from his book "Cat's Cradle." It's just sort of a placeholder until I do some research into what to put into the drawing, but until then, I feel like it works reasonably well.

I've felt like hell for the longest time. This is the first thing I've been interested in working on for weeks now. So be gentle when you tell me you hate it.

I love the subtle reference to "God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater" in the title.

You are the only person to have noticed that. Or at least the only one to have said something.

Awe-some. This rocks. I thought when I first looked at that it was a colored pencil drawing on toned paper, but realized it was digital when I brought the large version up.

Very good, my friend.

Thank you, Tyler. Your kind words fill me with burning ambition.

My words are indeed the very fuel of ambition, meant to kindle inspiration in all those who hear them.

Yet I myself am very unmotivated lately. Go figure.

It's been a long time since I read anything by him. Actually, it's been a long time since I read any fiction, not counting 'The DiVinci Code' which my wife got me last x-mas.

I am saddened. You should look Mr. Vonnegut up.

Many people, including myself, would call him the greatest living American author. He's about as good as it gets.

I see.. well, I'm neither american nor much of a book-person..

I don't think you really particularly have to be either to appreciate Vonnegut.

This is pretty crazy and awesome. I really like how the midtone blue and highlights are working together within the portrait.
Ha ha, I'm reviewing with my brand new fully-put-together computer that Royce just finisehd putting together. You should see this basard load Photoshop! Still a little buggy getting everything working together (the mouse doesn't work every other time I turn it on) but hopefully we'll get that straightened out.
But anyway, I'm glad you're pulling outta your funk a little and churning out more good work. Look forward to seeing more.
