Description If you're following the series in order, click here next .

The objective of this one was to show the moment right before she capitulates--which means "gives in." Here the pressure on her is at its greatest, with the ties in her hair pulling her head backwards, and the noose on her neck pulling her forwards and squeezing off her air supply. Her struggle to regain her feet and higher ground now just increases her own trouble--the gremlins just have to hold on and her own struggles will spell her doom. Yeah, I tried to put all of that in there, most of it concentrated into her face, the poor girl. I use that last icon a lot...

Enjoy!

'that's how I get undressed every night, they come out of the closet and from under the bed and take care of my clothes, then they launder them, iron and fold/hang them up for me and lay out my things for the morning!

A key step in getting to this point was putting the ties in her hair. www.deviantart.com/?offset=48&… Now that pays off big time!

Definitely. A friend of mine once pointed out to me the importance of gaining control of the victim/opponent's neck--the idea was shared at the same time I drew these original Rats pieces, actually. Tying into her hair is one way of doing that. It's a way I rather like. Thanks!

That "moment of capitulation" - Great concept, buddy. I'm going to focus on that in some of my videos. I know how you feel about not liking to see women in pain. As a D/s, High Protocol Dominant, I have to put submissives into pain, even if I don't want to - it's something they need, and it'll wreck the relationship if you don't. As in any kind of relationship, failing to give your girl what she needs will certainly doom you to losing her. I just have learned to look past the pain to the happiness she finds on the other side of it.

Thank you! Yes, I don't think Valerin here would agree that she needs what she's getting, but this is a fantasy after all. As you said, your insights into the D/s relationship sound true of most relationships, well, except for the pain thing. Thanks for the comment!

They're pulling her to... the shower; she's been wearing that outfit for three years now... "No, I won't do it! You can't make me take a bath!"

Well, that's obviously not it, really, but I'm certain that whatever awaits her in the gremlins' clutches, she would be better off getting the hell out of there...

Lesson 1: Long hair is impractical for a female-warrior (or for anyone really )
Lesson 2: Don't become overconfident just because you're good-looking.
Observation 1: Though sporting numerous layers of clothing MAY be practical, such as on an occasion like this, it's pretty damn uncomfortable... O_o Think of how much you sweat under a bodice, a jacket, and armor. O_O

Lesson 1's Response: And so I'm all for the chain mail hairnet...
Lesson 2's Response: And so I'm all for teaching these overconfident good-lookers a lesson in humility...
Observation 1's Response: And so I'm all for the chain mail bikini...

Actually, I think the idea in a lot of fantasy art is that the scantily-clad woman warrior dazzles her opponent with her looks, then calmly walks up and cuts his heart out (with a sword, I mean) while he drools... The problem here is that such a plan doesn't work so well when you're opponent is not a pin-headed, gonad-driven brute of a man, or any creature that behaves like one...

Kaytara In reply to faile35 [2006-09-14 09:13:36 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, my theory was something like that as well. The second problem is with chainmail bikinis is...

Have you seen those posters of half-naked female warriors standing knee-deep in the snow? Then you know what I mean already. XDDDD

I can't believe how well you draw hair with pen. This pic is a wonderful demonstrtion of that showing whats being held tight, and whats hanging a bit more loosely. You also have texture and a bit of shine in in her hair that doesn't conflict with the dark atmosphere which I think would be a bit of a challenge since most things in here are almost black ot heavily shaded . As always the whole picture is good, but thats one of the things that stood out to me the most

Thank you. I realized a while back that, when drawing women, hair was a very, very important characteristic to get right. I did some homework to get my skills up a bit in that arena, although I still get it frustratingly wrong. I do like long hair on women, though--it's like tail plumage on a peacock, but in reverse, so without it, she's just a funny-looking bird (at least if I'm the one drawing her)...

Thank you. Well, it may be a twisted and darkened soul, but it's still a soul. You wouldn't be the first (nor the last) to dislike the theme of much of my work, but you are one of the few who feels that way but still can recognize the art and skill in it, which is a very welcome thing. Hopefully there is something in my gallery that you can appreciate on a thematic basis...

I did look at your gallery and did recognize your artistic skills I admire you for conceiving ideas and drawing them just from your head, which is a god sent talent. However I am not crazy about fantasy and shadow style I go more for... uncle Freya's colorful style But I still adnire you as an artist, for your works are amazing too:tnumbsup:

Hey, to each his/her own. Your painting style has a feel similar to freya50's, so it would make sense for you to admire his works. He seems to admire yours as well. I personally like the snapshots into people's lives that you do, like the Realism of the early 1800s. It makes me think of Gustav Courbet, Jean-Francois Millet, and Honore Daumier, although your approach seems to have a definite impressionist streak--again, like my uncle's. It's quite impressive, actually, though I don't personally do much of that kind of thing. Like you've acknowledged, I just get images popping in there and then try and get them out as realistically and compellingly as possible. Sometimes that involves color, but for years it was almost entirely black and white. In any case, I appreciate your comment and the value/praise you do place on my art. Thanks.
