Description This is the image sans script for Rats in the Cellar Prologue Page 02 ( faile35.deviantart.com/art/Pro… ) . It's the first real feature image of the Harbinger I've drawn in the whole project. The stock model for Karea the Harbinger was revealed some time ago to be ~aubli who was photographed by ~WhisperedThunder . They worked hard to give me a plethora of kickass reference images about five years ago and it's taken me far too long to make use of them. For this, I'm very sorry, but I still intend to show how wonderful their posing and photography skills worked together. Watch for more images of the Harbinger in the future.

Enjoy!

Thank you! The stock model is very good at pole dancing, and she gave me a fantastic pose for this.

Thanks! As much as the ink and pencil make it possible, the digital tinkering makes all the difference.

Yes, I seem to manage it with digital pieces, but pencil ones all look mid-tome grey, try as I might to emulate your use of contrast and gradation.Β

Well, thank you for that. I'm a sucker for using the wrong medium to do what I have in mind--it explains the manic hatching on the ink drawings, the heavy application of graphite pencils of varying softness and heavy smudging, and a digital airbrushing of more and more dark. I've always felt that your pencil drawings really showcased what pencil is good for without trying to be something else. Regardless, there's no denying your skill with both distinct graphite and digital media.
