Description Another African species, this is a Forest Queen (Euxanthe wakefieldi) a species with have had a great deal of trouble with up until now. Before we would always get around 10 per ship, ment but only 1 or 2 would come out and they were usually deformed. Not this time, this time they all came out perfectly and have been showing themselves off well in the Rainforest!

Scentific name: Euxanthe wakefieldi
Family: Nymphalidae
Subfamily: Charaxinae
Tribe: Charaxini

Like most members of the Tribe Charaxini the Forest Queen is from Africa, Coastal East Africa more specifically. In addition they feed on fruit, dun and decaying matter and the females (Pictured here) are white inside, mimicing members of the genus Amauris where the male has a light blue hue.
