Okay, one more today since you've all been good little Avatar fans. I throw you this bone to chew on while you wait for the finale.Look closely at the notes for 208, panel A. It clearly states, "Katara watches Aang O.S. (off screen) smiling and blushing."
That's right. SMILING AND BLUSHING. Aang kissed her and she LIKED IT.
And yet, if you look at the actual drawing, her cheeks look flush, but she's anything but smiling.
How could this be? An innacuracy in the storyboard? Why does it say one thing, but depict another?
It is as though the board artist (me) subconsciously chose sides in the Kataang/Zutara war, clearly depicting Katara's happiness that Aang kissed her. BUT THEN was instructed by a ..."higher authority" to change that specific reaction.
Note that Katara's face in 208 panels A and B are not my actual drawings, but are in fact the work of a.... revisionist.
What does it all mean? We must look to the actual episode to see that her final, official, actual reaction is in fact...
..vague.

Isn't it obvious? Ship baiting. As long as we keep it a "secret" who Katara likes (LOL, yeah, it's a biiiiiiiiig secret, Miss I-Can't-Respect-the-Avatar's-Personal-Space-Like-Ever), we can keep the ratings high by keeping the Zutarians still watching to the end of the series... Basically, somebody was trolling.

first thing i noticed was this was the creepy katara moment

i watched the commentarys for that episode and bryke said that they were going to have her smiling, but then they didnt want it to seem like they were definately going to be together after this episode, like give anything away. they didnt want to have her smiling or mad, just nuetral. so fans wouldnt start going crazy over her face.

if you see card captor sakura, you can see the same situation with sakura and yukito, after than the moon guardian rejecter her, in the last she accept than she doesn't fell the same for yukito (is the same felling for her father or her brother) but there's some little felling different from that, but in the end never is the same
i'm zutarian, but i have the opinion in the last aang lear to let her go, katara fells the same, but is little in comparision with zuko

IMHO: Katara loves her little soldier and she's unsure if he will return to her.
There is no time for happy or even romantic feelings ... she's just sad that he possibly will NOT return to her.
Hope we'll see more Kataang-moments in the finale ... can't wait for it

Glad to have some notes and background on things. Ambiguity is great at times, and I love it when OTHERS are frustrated. Me, I'm frankly burnt out on the whole shipping thing and want to see the rest of the story.
