Actually, Avatar: The Last Airbender has that precise level of technology. Steam ships and metal tanks make up the technology available at the Old West as well as in Victorian England, which are basically the same age. Legend of Korra featured the next level of technology.
Funny because that world never had firearms.

Interesting renditions on all the characters. You drew them pretty convincingly int he Old Western settings. I like how you changed Aang's orange-coat and how Appa literally looks like a bison now. Too bad in this setting, it doesn't look like the Avatar gAang can all ride on Appa. haha. Almost didn't notice the strange horse hybrid that Sheriff Zuko is riding but that's an amusing detail. Oh.. and I didn't even notice Momo's presence until I read your comment! Nice touch.
I wonder though... the only thing I think can be different is Toph's version: considering how rough tough tomboy nature-- I can't imagine seeing her wear a dress normally. I'd imagine her in more masculine wear-- perhaps akin to a cowboy's?
Good job overall.

Being relatively new to the fandom, I have no idea if this has been done before, but I really like the concept! The costume changes are really nice, particularly on the girls. Making Aang a Native American was an interesting choice, although with the large number of Chinese immigrants during the time of the Old West, you could have retained his Eastern heritage without losing its historical appeal. (Though for the sake of change, it's pretty cool and I like what you did with the staff). I love how you changed Appa into a normal bison. This is what really caught my eye about the piece. He was definitely a wise addition to the background.

Thanks!
True, but I was going for Western feel rather than precise historical accuracy, and Native Americans are more iconic to that. I think Appa is my favorite thing about this picture. Glad you like him!

It was that!! I was thinking of the train Azula chased the Gaang with, but there's that train too! Cool! Thanks much!
