But killing people who don't believe in what you believe helps ensure that your belief is the one that gets spread and enforced. And if you kill all the other people who don't believe in what you believe, you destroy that belief that went against yours! So there is a very good reason to kill for religion. It can be used to effectively wipe out other religions that might be conflicting with yours.

I don't have a religion. I find those who have religions tend to destroy themselves anyway.

I completely agree. I'm not a religious person, in fact I'm more of an atheist. But I respect that other people do believe in a god but I don't think that it gives them the right to kill just because someone else doesn't believe in the same god or worship the same way they do.

I'm more agnostic than anything. Though I'm not necessarily agnostic for christianity. More, paganism than anything. In my opinion, Christianity is just a monotheist spin off of the polytheist religions. Way too many similarities of Pagan rituals in Christianity for me to take it seriously...

They only kept the pagan similarities to please enough people to become converts. So yeah. That and I have issues with the fact that a person wrote the bible. Knowing the fact that some ancient cultures would use hallucinogenic plants to go into trances, it's a possibility they could have been on something. That's my thinking anyway and everyone is free to feel the opposite. My main reason for not believing is that my grandparents were devout Christians and forced my sister and I to go to church every Sunday if we were at their house and not at our Mom's.

I have issues with the fact Christians are so adamant that their 'god' wrote the bible. No, it, quite literally, is a series of chapters written by various different people, that the Church bastardized and twisted to validate its own agendas. I was forced to go to church as well, and at a very young age I was able to figure out the contradictions of its own stories.

And the sad thing is, our dad is of the same mind and we were still forced into it. It could be because after he and my mom divorced he lived with his parents. So when we went to visit him, we also went to see grandma and grandpa. I started forming my beliefs when I was a preteen which was after my grandma (I guess it was mainly her) lost her control over my sister and I.

It always sucks when people judge people for others' mistakes, but it's a common and inevitable part of humanity.

...unless the other guy is intent on killing YOU for religious reasons, but I guess that would be self-defense motivated rather than religiously motivated.

Whether or not it's forwarded to me, Killing for religion in general is just plain stupid. I don't believe in it, especially when it goes against the 'teachings' of that particular religion.

Pretty sure the Quran (is that spelled right?) does NOT tell its followers to do so, but they believe it does anyway. They call people like us infidels.

Haha, I know. They think it's okay to act on their own preference and hide behind their "beliefs." Oh well. I honestly think we're all already in hell anyway.
(And thank you! <3)

Islam is sadly probably on of the main factions (lol why did I just reference Fallout) that is pointed to when Religious Extremism is brought up. Look what they're doing in France? Not only that, the people who worship there are condemning everything that hasn't to do with Islam. Christianity is just as bad I think, promoting peace and love, whilst turning upon those who are deemed 'heretics' by the 'god written bible'. There's actually more passages condemning heterosexuals, than there are homosexuals, but who gets the hype and the ridecule? Not only that, I can name quite a few American politicians who are Religious nutcases. Perry and Bachmann being the front.
As for me, I like to keep open minded, spiritual, but not necessarily tying myself to a certain Deity... Though as of late, I think Loki is having fun making my life chaotic =.=;

I don't claim to know enough about ANY religion, honestly. I suppose I should learn as much as I can; couldn't hurt. But I do know that religion is entirely far too stressful. And yes, Christianity is fucked up. Rather, Christians are. Radical ones. I know gay Christians, and Christians who think it's just as normal to be gay as it is straight. Then there are the types who think with their bible, condemn everyone, then turn around and treat themselves and others "sinfully." It's all one big clusterfuck of disgusting human behavior; judging others for what YOU believe in, hiding behind something you can't see or prove. I like to stay away from it. I also find it hilarious that some Americans say "Fucking islams are the devil." I'm thinking... "You know you both pretty much worship the same god, right? And did you also know that your Jesus was Middle-Eastern?" People really sicken me... White people are stupid for thinking Jesus was white, and black people are stupid for thinking Jesus was black.
But in any case, I think seeing Jesus as anything more than what he was --human-- is stupid. He was a child once, too. What the bible doesn't tell you now, is that he was a little bastard as a teen. You know what? He may have even fucked around with guy friends. You never know. He was human, and for people to look at him like he's some sort of god is kind of blind, in my opinion. Oh, and the whole "Mary the virgin" thing? Not buying it.
So, that's just my two-cents for now. I felt like getting all of that out, even though I'll probably get flagged for it or something. Oh well.
Loki is a doll, innit? <3

I studied the bible front to back, wrote papers on it, and use its own words against those that spew hate and the 'fire and brimstone' tactics to others. It also does well to expose the various different contradictions.
Not only that, but if you really think about it, the Bible condones Incest and Rape, and other various things. Look at Lot and his daughters? BOTH bore HIS CHILDREN. And yes, I find it VERY, VERY amusing that Jesus had a temper tantrum in one of the books. I think it was against something going on in a temple, and he just went ballistic. It was like 'Dude. Seriously. Way to wig out.' I pretty much hate Islam and Christianity equally, because the extremism in both is just downright gun-butt smack worthy.
