Three months ago I downloaded a picure of a monk onto my computer from the Internet (maybe even from DA...). This was before i had bought my camera when i didn't have any idea whatsoever about photography. I really loved the photo and Japanese culture, so I showed the picture to a friend and said "if i can take one photo even remotely like this one while I'm over there I'll die a happy man".Well two weeks after that while i was hanging around outside Osaka Castle I ran into a monk; the SAME monk whose photo i had downloaded onto my PC just a month before...
Well, let's not bother mentioning how small a world we live in, and as for my "i'll die a happy man" comment, lets just say i have re-evaluated my position on that...

well my advise in that case is to take the first flight to Osaka, stop by the castle in the afternoon and look for this guy with your camera ready, you never know you could just get lucky

This is an inspiration. The minimalist colours of this composition really offset the contented persona of a monk.

...not sure s him or not...but i saw similiar this guy at Kyoto Wooden Temple last year when visit holiday at April & December...

Great picture! I saw someone similarly interesting in Nara but didn't have the courage to take his picture. This reminds me of that moment, so kudos to you!
