Last night was one of the most amazing sunsets I've ever seen here in Arizona...I actually drove down to work and got up on the roof for a better viewHere you can see sunlight's effect as the sun goes down...I didn't alter these any way, except for a little sharpening after resizing. I couldn't decide which of these to post, so I used all 3

When I was looking through your gallery for things to feature in my journal, I came across this. One of your older works that I had never seen. And in reading the description, it reminded me of a memory from my childhood. It was a beautiful sunset. The kind that fills the sky with shades of orange, blue and purple. The clouds look like freshly plowed fields in rows and rows of color. I was heading up the hill to the barn, tagging along behind my grandmother when she stopped to look up and admire the gorgeous sky. And she said something that I've never forgotten. She said, "No one paints a picture as pretty as the Lord paints." I don't know why that statement stuck with me all these years but it has. And whenever I see one of those sunsets...the kind that take your breath away in wonder.....I think about her and what she said that day. She celebrated her 93rd birthday this past week. And she still loves to admire the Lord's art. Though she does so now from her recliner in front of the big window in her living room. She's a wonderful woman! And I'm glad she taught me to enjoy the sunset too!
This is a beautiful series of shots! And you're certainly right. God IS the ultimate artist!

I just saw your icon on someone else's page and had to stop by just to see what you are all about. This is truly awesome. I lived in Tucson for a while and know that Arizona has some amazing sunsets. Thanks for capturing one of the greats and giving me a nostalgic moment.

This has blown me away and sucked me back in, three times over.
Its amazing to see such a tiny little dot produce so much wonder. I adore the centre pic, but seeing all three together is an amazing sight - excellent work. for this - I love it.

this is so damn cool! yeah i've grown a bit numb about the sunset shots after god knows how many i've seen. but knowing how much time and patience involved in this photograph i must say i admire that the three shots come from a 45-minute observation. your time was well paid off

I like the idea behind this but, it feels boring. I don't know what it is. Maybe the colors or the fact that its a sunset. Just feels boring. I'd go for something more standish-out-ish. Nice idea though.

I agree - this is a beautiful set of images and I think it's even more beautiful because they are placed side by side. The sum is greater than the individual parts (which are great photos to begin with).
