Description My daughter, Tanya, is the girl at the far right (about 5 to 6 years old). Her daughter, Bella, (my granddaughter) is at the far left and just turned 7 years. Thirty some odd years ago Tanya was in Mozart's "The Magic Flute". I put the two together for some deep meaning that I can't quite articulate. Maybe you can help me.

I find myself slightly torn in looking at it--my eye tries both to unify the two images into a single composition and also to divide them. I realize now, after looking at it several times and for quite a while, that such an idea can be inherent in a collage-style drawing, and the composition actually works rather well. The straight line division between the two forces the images apart more than allowing them to interact, which is an interesting take. It's a challenging puzzle, and a fun one to tackle--I think you did a fantastic job with it, and your technique is definitely shining here. Wonderful piece, I say, and a nice addition to your gallery.

I was thinking of using a zipper effect or maybe more accurately a building block effect to unite the two pictures. Maybe for another time. Thank you so much for your help and comments.

I hope my comment didn't suggest that you should change it. Shame on me if it did. I find the challenge of accepting this composition quite interesting, actually, because I think it is a blast in the face of complacency--it's like using a comic-book strategy to do fine art, which is something I should be quite comfortable with... I say leave it. In fact, a few more like this might be a very interesting mini-series that would develop into something pretty new and original.
