Well, I was finally able to schedule that kimono photoshoot I wanted with the turning leaves. My photographer also had lots of time on her hands, so I was able to wear three ensembles. All of these pictures were taken on my university campus.My silver hagi houmongi with a spider chrysanthemum nagoya obi. This kimono was actually a little heavy, and felt odd to wear. I think it might be the sole kimono in my collection that's too wide for me...

I also love spider chrysanthemum. I have a komon kimono that's a dark indigo w/ silver-white spider chrysanthemum all over, but I haven't had a chance to wear it yet!
I wish I had kimono that were too wide! Most of mine just barely fit me!

You should definitely wear your komon! Spider chrysanthemums are so lovely, I'm always really awed by wafuku that has them.
Most of my kimono don't quite fit either, that's why it was weird to wear this one. I'm used to compensating for kimono that aren't wide enough or long enough, so when I first tried this one on my kitsuke was really wonky. It took the third try to get it right.

Yeah, I see what you mean. If you're use to compensating one way, and you suddenly have to do the exact opposite it would take a couple tries to figure everything out.
