This is so cute! ^_^ I love Tookie. I keep meaning to do stuff from SHSM but I haven't yet.

Haha it already is! Most of it is stored though to preserve it, dust does not mix well with some of my painted things unfortunately.

Ahh, the infamous Tookie! I used to think it was such a coincidence that he shared the same name as my grumpy Tookie, but then I remembered something...
When we first got Tookie back in Summer '97, I actually named him after the toucan Tookie from that old cartoon George of the Jungle (they actually made a live action movie that summer, and I really loved the scenes with Tookie). Now that's quite a coincidence!! xD
Anyway, I really love this little mascot! He's so cute, I friggin' LOVE toucans! They're actually one of my most favorite animals! <3

Haha, isn't that a funny coincidence! xD That's where my Tookie's name comes from anyone, I really don't know where they got the idea for Tookie in Shattered Memories. I guess copyright wasn't much of an issue because George of the Jungle is pretty obscure for today's standards, and on top of that, the Tookie from the cartoon actually had the design of a real toucan, whereas Tookie from Shattered Memories had the goofy Toucan Sam look going on with the multi-colored beak.
Yay! C: That definitely gives me something to look forward to! Tookie really is a cute mascot character. Hehe, I don't know much about softbills (maybe you can teach me a thing or too!), but I just love Toucans for their cute, silly bodies and large banana-beaks! *w* Okay, I'm gonna go on a tangent here, so bear with me! When I was sightseeing in Japan this time last year, we went to this zoo in Nagoya, and I saw a very cute toucan, and he posed for me as I took his photo too!

;__;!!! Thank you haha. I do try!
And of course! Gosh you took a nice photo and made it jaw dropping incredible. I can't even imagine how long it took you to make it, I am seriously so happy you took the time, as I am with all your edits. It makes it so worth it to stress and toil to have masterpieces like you create. Your edits bring life and atmosphere into my photos/costumes which are severely lacking. I really hope one day I can make it to some sort of abandoned place to shoot, that would probably give you a plethora of new ideas for things too hehe!

Your pet bird is so cute and wow! Another prop that you've knocked right out of the park. The Silent Hill fandom is lucky to have a dedicated fan like you. (^^)

Thank you so much, you are seriously TOO kind!!! You are a wonderful asset to the community both in your cosplaying and in your wonderfully kind spirit.
Hopefully I can get some decent photos with this guy. It'll probably be a while since I need to make Cheryl's plaid and shoes, and I haven't started adult Dahlia yet. I am still holding out for snow for Lisa haha!

Really nice job! I admire your plushie/sewing work/ I imagine cutting out the fur was quite a mess, just wearing something made out of it makes little fuzzies go everywhere.

Thanks so much Holly :3!! Haha you guessed correctly! This stuff got in my nose and throat, it was really scratchy but so worth it. It might not be entirely accurate since Cheryl's doesn't appear fuzzy but I am happy I went with it regardless.

Nice work. You could consider making the feet out of some sort of slick fabric next time in order to avoid the nasty stuff clay can do.

Thanks! I was originally going to make it out of fabric, but then I wasn't sure how to make the bottom of his feet look better...honestly that's an amazing idea though, because I could have gone with thin stretchy stuff that could go over the feet bases and cover any cracks. (they originally formed because it dried unevenly due to the different thicknesses, I've figured out a way to avoid it since making these feet thankfully). People seem to be interested in a commission, so if any of that ever pans out I will be looking to see if I can find spandex in that color. Thank you very much for the input!

There are patterns out there for making plushies like this, so you could look up some of those. One thing I'd add to anything they might advise is to stick pipe cleaners into the legs (with the ends folded over to keep them blunt, of course) so they can be posable.

This guy is just way too perfect, holy crapoli ;___; Oh my GOODNESS GRACIOUS he LOOKS SO ACCURATE to the game! I love how all the props you have made look so authentic to Shattered Memories!
I want one of my own! ;_;

Thank you so much! 'Tis an honor coming from such an awesome cosplayer and massive fan of the series, so it really means a lot that you like him so much!
And omg girl you could make a BETTER one! You and Koi can draft mascot costumes, I swear that skill is probably really handy for shaping stuff like his feet and all. If there's interest I'd happily commission him.

Oh my gosh! I didn't even realize that. Do they have completely different brands in the UK? I now realize a lot is different but I imagine there might be some overlap from imports?

Sometimes it's different...we don't have Lucky Charms here at all or anything like it, and Frosted Flakes is called Frosties here (though still with Tony the Tiger on it)
But we do have Fruit Loops sold here ^^ see them all the time when going food shopping with my mom.

That is so interesting! I thought those were all made by the Kellog company, so I guess some are just not popular enough to merit selling where you are? Do Fruit Loops have a different mascot?

Haha I see! That is really interesting how it is different though, I will be keeping that in mind. Sorry for my ignorant American moment, I try to avoid that when I can but I didn't even think of how different branding might be where you are.

No no there's no need to be sorry ^^ It really is interesting though how they're all different...it's same with films too, like the Avengers, because we used to have a tv show over here called The Avengers (not related at all), people might get confused by seeing that name so they had to call it "Marvel's Avengers Assemble"...sad but true =/

Wow! I had no idea about that. Geez and there I was wondering about that long name. Someone did their UK/wordly research before making the title haha

kngdmhrts2 In reply to g0ldfishl0ve [2013-03-01 10:46:38 +0000 UTC]
Haha yeah, I dunno why there's so many name changes all the time, it's like the Professor Layton games, each one has a sub-title, and apart from the first one, the sub-titles are different between American and UK versions for no reason.
And being completely off-topic here, yay for KH 1.5 HD coming out in America and Europe! Can finally get to play Re:CoM here! xD

Oh wow! I didn't know you hadn't played it yet! I remember being so happy when it was ported for the PS2. I have it, but I never beat Riku's story, it was too hard for me.

Yeah it's been a long long long wait for UK and Europe but we'll finally be able to play it! ^^ The fact that we're all getting the Final Mix additions too for KH1 makes it even better. Now they kinda have to do a 2.5 HD with KH2:FM, BBS:FM and maybe Re:Coded done in same way as Days is for 1.5

Thank you so much! I'm so happy you like it so much!
I'd gladly commission him if you're interested. I'd have to use different beak material but I have the red fabric left over I think (and if not I can maybe get more at Hancock's). He takes a decent time to make, but I think it would go faster without having to fill in cracks in clay (I'd dry it evenly if I re-made one so it wouldn't crack).
