You can choose between a 'boy' and a 'girl' in the Pokemon games.Many adults play the games too though, so why not have the option of picking a grown up as your trainer/avatar?

What I think is hilarious about this comic?
The fact is that I believe Leaf (Green, whatever you want to call her) is upset.
Not because Red asked that question.Β She's upset because she realizes she's actually considering it.

You know... that would be a cool idea. Being able to be an adult starting a journey would be great! Even with Sun/Moon and the extra customisability it offers in terms of skin colour (but not hair texture, really...), maybe they're heading that way...? lolΒ
If you were an older trainer, maybe you'd live with your sister or just on your own!

Yea, one thing that kinda wears out the novelty overtime is being unable to play a character that's actually older than 10. I do think the trainers in Black and White looked a bit older, like 14 and such, but it sorta goes back to the same formula afterwards.

Actually, all of them are older than 10, in fact, Red is 11. Plus,Β how could you mistake Calem and Serena for 10? They look at the very least 15, and same goes for Nate and Rosa.
