What brings a weaponless, crewless, wanted pirate captain off of her marvelous ship and into some forgotten woodland with naught but a single gold coin in her purse? Adventure of course!

Presenting this year's Halloween outfit, which actually got me Best Costume at a friend's party.

I had trouble with my pirate name (my husband voted for "Mad Lizzie" but I picked Delarosa because of the color scheme, the roses on my sash, and because my ship carries a Spanish letter of Marque. Delirium has always been what I would call a pirate ship.

I was either going to go as an earth fairy or a pirate captain, and my friend picked the former for herself (plus the fact that it's cold in October). The frock coat is from a Simplicity pattern, and the rest was cobbled together by myself. Please look past the ridiculously long shirt sleeves...they actually pin onto a normal blouse and I did not adjust them properly under the coat.
