Every year I try to make my Grandmother a miniature scene like this one. My theme for this year was my Grandfather's garden, which I remember him taking me through as a child before he passed away. Nearly everything in the piece has a reason behind it, for example:

The gardener's jeans are made from denim my Grandmother gave me 20 years ago when I was first learning how to sew.

My Grandfather used to wear suspenders and button-up shirts.

My Grandmother has a chipmunk that has lived in her yard and been her friend for years.

This year a large toad decided to live in my own garden.

The vegetables are either things my Grandfather or myself have grown.
