I love wolves, but I don't purify them like some do.Β Some people actually complain when a fictional wolf is written as a villain as though it's disrespectful to wolves (I have seen the same thing happen with foxes, which I love more than wolves.)Β I may love wolves, but I don't don't mind if they are villainized (and it makes sense if they are.)
In fact, if you love an animal, shouldn't you love them even as villainous characters, if the character is good?Β I actually enjoy seeing/writing animals I like as villains as much as the good guys (and some villains end up being the best characters.)

Exactly!! From what I've seen in some of the old books I read, the wolves are only villainized because its an animal book and the Main characters are rabbits and other prey animals. Like wolves gotta eat, but rabbits don't see it that wayΒ

I like wolves, but they aren't as majestic as a tiger or polar bear. I do like wolf fursonas (and I make some). Wolfaboos only care about wolves and not the truly endangered species like the coelacanth or the prezwalski's horse. The only canine in critical endangerment if the Red Wolf. I like wolves because they look kinda cool. I can draw wolves, but does it really make ME a wolfaboo? (Nope)

I usually ignore wolfaboos, they're a bit like the Tyrannosaurus worshipers in YT, albeit not as idiotic. Both very unreasonable and heavily biased.
Wolves aren't really on my favored synapsids list, I prefer dinocephalians, which are in my opinion, way cooler than wolves.

I've always wondered why they say that wolves are so hated when most people a) use them as Fursonas, b) use them as OCs, and c) make spiritual art out of them. If you look around at other animals, like hyenas, you'll that hyenas are hated, and it's pretty brutal.
