The game you've been waiting for is finally here! Mary Sue Bingo is the best game ever!Play alone or with people you occasionally hang out with!
How to play: Download and cut out all the pieces. I'm too lazy to make a flash version for people with iphones (if it handles flash...I don't know, because I can't get one) or laptops.
Watch a video/anime, play a video game, read a fanfic/book, or watch people at a convention!
If the character (or person) you're spying on matches any of these squares, put a flower token on the space!
Free space automatically gets a token.
The first person to get a row of sue traits covered wins! It can be diagonal, horizontal, vertical, or a cover-all game! Woo!
Disclaimer: No Mary Sues were harmed in the making of this game. If you want to play with more than 4 people, make your own or buy a set from me when or if I make more. Fun sold separately.

So I just screenshotted and played this for my oc and he got about 3-4 of these (never in a row and most were the same) does this make him a Gary stu?

Thankfully the character I use the most didn't get too many of these. I've taken different "Mary Sue Tests" before, and only a couple said he was over the top. Then again, I've cleaned up his background over the past several years.

Some of these traits are common for Toons, such as breaking logic, being immortal, having no pockets but lots of items, looking young (Sometimes), transforming clothes, travelling through time or dimensions, and being an orphan.
So as far as I'm concerned, a Toon who DIDN'T have most of these qualities would be a Sue, since 99% of classic CANON Toons have all or most of these traits.
Rather, these traits shouldn't be considered Sueish for Toons unless they're absent.

That's why it's bingo- a match means you might need to consider what's going on in your character. Traits, in certain circumstances, can be fine. For example, let's take Doctor Who. He's pretty much immortal and has an actually really tragic story. Both traits are there. It doesn't make a match however, and in the show they pull off everything relatively well

But with them, it's usually done for humor, not for tragedy.

I'll list off what I got. Β Let the cringe fest begin!
No Pockets / Bag but many items - Yes and no. Β Dimensional pocket filled with weapons
Secretly Rich, royalty or a god - Yes and no. Β Not a secret, quite public that he's "God" (self-proclaimed)
More than 5 Talents - Yes and no. Β Not really talents but more so experience
Immortal / Can't seem to die - Yes. Β I have more fun trying to figure out how he dies
Clothes magically change or transform - Not clothes, but battle armor. Β And they form over the clothes...it still counts to me.
Always knows what to do / solves puzzles - Strictly speaking, NO. Β But this happens way too often, so it's a yes for me.
Frequent / Main Character - Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha yes.
Looks young - Yes. Β Not going to bullshit my way out of this one.
Breaks Logic - This is a 50/50
Wounded but unaffected - I can explain...but yes.
Travels through dimensions/time - Dimension travel is his gimmick
Overly intelligent - When I want to be
Speaks more than 3 languages - Yes. Β Not going to BS my way out of this either.
Eyes change color - A practical use, but yes.
Can fly - Hahahaha fuck yeah. Β Dragon Ball Z style, let's do this.
Perfect Body - For the sake of the argument, yes
Uses god-like spells/weapons - For the sake of the argument, yes.

You won't believe this, but Ebony Dark'ness Dementia Raven Way - the Queen of Suedom - only gets one bingo line (bottom left card, horizontal through the free space), and THAT'S only because of the free space.

Ok... My character may have a lot of these traits, but then again, he's not good at everything known to man.. This is also the result of over 10+ years of use and fine-tuning.. Plus he doesn't have every color known to man on his skin/eyes/hair/etc... Only thing he might wear with that many colors is a tye-dye shirt, but that's it.
This is still really funny though... It's also sad, for more characters find many lame reasons to not be killed or affected by anything that harms them in some way.. One of the reasons I don't publicly roleplay anymore.

It's not by itself, no. The bingo boards just list common traits found among mary sues.

A lot of times it's just a signal for a mary-sue. If you have a character named Daisy or Sapphire doesn't necessarily make it a mary-sue, it's just common among mary-sues.

That just means the story focuses on them. So if they're a main character, they're often seen, talked about, and has the story revolve around them in some way. They're an important character in the story.
