Description What you're looking at was my first foray into the exciting world of silversmithing. The "vines" are made of Argentium silver (silver 930) that I melted and fused together, and then sweat soldered to a piece of copper cut from sheet metal. The bail is sterling silver, similarly soldered into place. I hung it on a sterling chain with a sterling clasp.

I just finished this Thursday, and this was meant to be one of my ten pendents for my Etsy promotion, but fate decided otherwise. This was my only sale at the Farmers Market today, but it easily paid for the time. The only reason I get to show you guys at all is that the customer wanted it on a magnetic clasp rather than the one I used, so I needed to bring it home to change it out.

Actually, it's not even really finished. It still needs another pickling and polishing, which I will do this evening before I call her to tell her it's done.

It sold for $90, and represents my most expensive piece to date by far.

It looks great. (Much better than my sweat soldering went!)

I'm an intermediate Silversmith, working towards master. Which will take a life time. lol I was watching you because I like your wire wrapping, it was inspirational for my filigree designs. I'm happy you've gone into Silversmithing. For me silversmithing's given me a sense of satisfaction that I wasn't getting from other techniques/jewelry making. I love the torch. Soon to be incorporating brass, nickel, more copper, and gold into our classes, I look forward to that. Keep up the great work. I love how you're progressing. Congrats on the sale, it's amazing and validating when you start getting higher prices for your work.

Sooooo tempting. I need to set aside some money to spend on your shop. That person is lucky to have grabbed this up. I really love how the spiral works with the piece behind it.

Yeah, I like the combination of the organic shapes with the geometric. Don't be too hasty buying stuff. I won't have anything to give you for Christmas! ^_^
