Katashi Himura is a second year student studying in the hero course of U.A academy in order to fulfill his dream of becoming a pro hero.

Katashi appears to have a lean figure with long, skinny legs which his cousin, Akane, describes as "stick legs". He's over the average height, standing at 178 cm (or 5'10) but he isn't too tall either. His hair is of a crimson red, a trait that seems to run in his family and he has koala grey eyes. He is mostly seen with black eyeliner and the reason for this is because he likes to define his eyes. You will always see him with a grin plastered on his face but he does frown and show different expressions from time to time.

For his uniform, Katashi wears a white buttoned upshirt underneath the school blazer and has his sleeves are rolled up to the elbow. He wears the green school pants and wears red sneakers instead of school shoes and it's surprising that he wears his tie, sometimes, he leaves his blazer open and leaves his tie hanging on his left shoulder.

Outspoken and sarcastic are traits that define Katashi, because of this, his speech pattern is direct. He is very frank in his opinions and doesn't really care if what he has said would hurt the feelings of someone because that's what they are to him, because of this, he is considered a rude jerk. He is not respectful in the slightest and refers to everyone without the use of honorifics, regardless of who they are. His sarcastic personality makes it difficult for others to tell if he's just being sarcastic or sincere with his words, but according to Akane, "that asshole smiles when he's being sincere and smirks when he's not". He is also very conceited, often praising himself, his looks, his academic achievements and his quirk.

Katashi is also very competitive and hates to lose so he'll do anything in his power to win, although he isn't as aggressive as Katsuki. However, Katashi is someone who admits that he lost when he does and he's also willing to learn from his mistakes, instead of insisting that he didn't actually lose or that he was just going easy on his opponent. Katashi seems to be intelligent as he gets high grades, especially without studying and he is capable of analyzing situations well but only if he has enough time. He is also very confident in his quirk, this is most likely because he was the only child in his family who inherited his quirk and because he has good control over it. Katashi is also quite audacious, this causes him to get into little quarrels with his teachers but it doesn't become anything serious. He is also someone who enjoys pulling pranks on others and is known to be mischievous by those in his grade/class.

Despite all this, Katashi is a caring person deep down and always looks out for others, even though he doesn't express it, the reason is that he just doesn't know how to. He also becomes sensitive, affectionate and loving in front his younger sisters and he's also protective over them, this was the reason why Masae liked him (she had seen him with them once when she was leaving school). It is mentioned by Akane that he flirts but he has never shown to do so (at least, so far).

He is capable of moving large objects made of metal with ease and even objects that have the tiniest bit of metal. Katashi is also able to change the shapes as well as bend of any kind of metal as it is a malleable object and he is also able to make thin wires out of it. He is also able to fuse two metals together. Katashi's quirk also allows him to know whether there are any metals around him or the area he's in, although how far he is able to detect is currently unknown.

However, Katashi is unable to create metal and always needs an existing source. Metals also melt when exposed to extreme heat, become rusted when exposed to water and oxygen and basically anything normal metals are effected by. It's not mentioned exactly how much metal he's able to manipulate but the bigger the size, the more exhausting it is for him.

He has yet to mention who inspired him to become a hero or why he wants to be one.
