I haven't messed around with colored pencils in a long time. Zindy recently inspired me with her new Avril Lavinge colored pencil portrait so I dug out the CP's and had a go at one. I think this turned out ok but I am not very good with skin tones, so be easy on me. I used a grainy paper on this drawing too, which is why it's not as smooth as my other drawings.11"x14" Bristol Vellum

I love the skintones, I think she absolutely glows. You manipulated the textured paper really well, I'm even going to venture to say her skin probably looks better this way than it would have on really smooth paper. Awesome job as usual!

Well, I will be completely honest with you, all it takes is dedication. I sit down every night at 5:00 and draw. Even if I am not inspired. I have been doing this for about the past 3 years. If you go to my website and click on 2004 drawings, you will see what level I was at when I first started. With every portrait I did I learned a little bit and I got a little better. And this will continue, I will never be as good as I want to be and that's what will keep me working hard.

marvellous work, the detail, shadows, highlights are perfect, not sure about the long faint streak (shadow ??) under her eye but all in all, this is fantastic work

I haven't seen a color drawing from you in a long time but once again youve proven your skill and talent as an artist, the skin tones I think are amazing I especially love the color in the neck, I could NEVER do that, You should make a BOOK! yes, featuring a bunch of your WIPs and then the result, it would be an excellent reference and help guide for the not so professional artists like myself! lol really though, I'd buy it

Ahh lovely colour! The skin tones all look pretty subtle and nice, this is a great profile. This is so much better than what I could do with coloured pencils-haven't used them for about 5 years! Well done!
