These lumbering beasts are a common sight in the plains of North and South America, they're usually solitary but can form small groups. They forage for meals using their large claws and long tongues to dig up food like invertebrates, fungi, tubers, and fruits. Their compacted rough shells are obviously used for defending itself against predators, but they also have small spikes around their tails, these too are used for defense, they battle by shoving and ramming with their tails. Their predators consist of felids, canids, and crocodillians. Females give birth to two or more pups, which feed off her milk for about 3 months, they forage and stick with their mother for about 2 years.
