Miktosuchus is a fairly large crocodilian that lurks the muddy waters of the North/South American isthmus coastal swampland, it shares its environment with other aquatic animals, even competing with them. They average 4 meters in length and 350 kg, similar to today alligators, and like today's alligators they are fierce predators, eating whatever they can fit into their mouths. Being generalists and extremely adaptable they can tolerate both fresh and saltwater. The mating season occurs during the dry season, and when it ends the females build nests out of vegetation, and continues to lay and incubate her eggs, the mothers are very protective of their young, and they also take care of the young of other females, care for their young ends once the wet season and the floods return.
