Description

Introduction:

The following entries are journals from an expedition that according to the journal’s time stamps will not be sent for another twenty years to investigate an anomaly that has not emerged yet.  I have organized them and done my best to bring any and all Maliform subtext to the surface as well as neutralize any cognitive-hazards that may have been present. The ZSV has already conducted three investigations of the site in question as the data transmissions keep coming. They have found nothing out of the ordinary other than a dead solar system devoid of any life. It is unknown if a rift will bring about the events listed here or perhaps if we are receiving transmissions from an alternate but doomed universe parallel to our own. This IPF file has not been given a hazard rating. – Doctor Sindarri, Malyana Syngonium Exchange Officer.

“...ved at Aruka. It wasn’t what anyone expected, it wasn’t another dead world scoured by the Oo’Ol, [Data corrupted] …with life according to our longest range scans. It was clearly a Type-M, and just a bit smaller in diameter than Earth is at eleven thousand five hundred and forty-two kilometers. Based on our stellar cartography of the area we can tell that it’s axial tilt ranges from nineteen point three to twenty-two point six degrees and the planet rotates on that axis once per twenty-two point eighty-one standard hours. Its orbit appears to be longer as it is a bit further from its star than earth is from sol. A year on Aruka is about four hundred and fifty-six standard days. It is solidly in the Goldilocks zone and it has a singular moon that is small but interesting because it appears to be covered in some kind of condensate giving it a strange greenish gray color. We are sending beta team aboard the CCS Illustrious to investigate that while gamma team aboard the CSS Woonsocket handles deploying orbital communications assets. My team aboard the CCS Decateur is Alpha team and we are going to investigate the anomalous spatial distortions coming from the planet’s surface. These dist…[Audio lost due to data corruption]…with any luck they will be exactly the same as the ones seen in prior contact with the Malik. In a few days we should know for sure.”
