A commissioned piece for ~Desmodos featuring her City of Heroes character, Desmodos and a whole gaggle of everyones favorite cultists and sorcerers.

With this piece, I wanted to create some kind of dynamic layout that wouldn't be just another cool character doing cool things from a mostly frontal view (I'm getting too close to a rut for comfort) and eventually came upon this layout which I'm rather pleased with, though it did offer up some difficulties especially with Desmodos' face. Trying to get it right from such a sever angle with only a dab or two of color or shade to hint at the features that are mostly obscured from view took me, sadly, nearly two days to get in and of it's self. Luckily, after that hurdle, the rest of the painting fell into place without much complaining.

Of everything, however, the spectral knights are my favorite. They were fun to paint and I find the end result to be pleasing. I have to find an excuse to include more ghostly apparitions in my future digital work... they are just so much fun and, in contrast to traditional media, quite easy to do digitally.
