I spent part of my day today going through photographs and putting them in albums. I came across this photo and so I found it on my external hard drive. I shot this back in 2007 on a trip to Florida. I visited the Brevard Zoo, a nice little zoo that I highly recommend. I just liked the way that the real photo looked, so I thought I'd see how the digital copy looked and see if all of you liked it as well. I happen to find these birds fascinating! The background was quite lovely; didn't look like a zoo at all. Yet the bird stands out from the background like it should. Overall, it's an okay piece I think. I love these birds, (way smarter than some people I know)! lol And the colors! Really like how the focus is all on one thing... the beautiful subject matter.

Thanks! I can't remember now why I was shooting him from this angle but I like how it appears like he was holding his wings slightly open. And he appeared in my developed photo to be nice and sharp, so I thought I'd give it a go!

You're quite welcome. I like this angle because you see his golden chest perfectly and he's trimmed in blue. His wings do seem to be opened as if he was making sure you'd get this great golden shot.
