Description One of my oldest creation remodified (dragon head). Both dragon and rider came from a piece 50x50cm golden foil paper.

The story behind this model (pretty long and boring ):
Miyajima Noboru is one of the best and famous origami creator in Japan [link] . He created knight on a dragon model [link] and knight on a pegasus model [link] and displayed them in 1999 Japan origami convention. I haven't even began origami at that time. I first saw those pictures in 2001 and I desperately wanted to fold the dragon model, but at that time neither instruction nor pattern for the model existed. Hence, I tried to create my own model and I came up with this dragonrider. Later in 2002 Mr. Noboru set up his personal website and published patterns for his knight on a dragon model which was quite different from my dragonrider. I was relieved. Finally, I would like to thank Mr. Noboru for inspiring me to continue creating.

Would you mind sharing your instructions?

I mean, I'm looking for a wonderful birthday gift for my friend, and this is something that he would very much like.

I have folded complex models before, so no worries there.

If you can't give me instructions, I would very much appreciate it if you could recommend a separate model that does have instructions.

Much love for you work. (:

Highly impressive, that must take so much patience and concentration. O__O The title is so ironic because I'm reading a book called, "Dragon Rider" and another deviation of yours called Firedrake is ironic as well, since the dragon in the book is named Firedrake. XD But anyway, this is simply amazing.

Nocciola [2005-09-20 11:31:00 +0000 UTC]

I find the head really impressive with that long tongue pointing forward!! For the rest of the model I like proportions of the dragon body and wings and the dimension of the dragonrider.
In order to be really naughty: what about putting fingers on the dragon's feet?

guspath In reply to Nocciola [2005-09-20 12:14:46 +0000 UTC]

Hehe that is too much detail and folding I plan to draw diagram for this model so people can fold it so I think I'll keep it simple, but for my own pleasure I might do what you just suggest

It's amazing how you do these things...by just folding paper! I could probably make a square, and that's about it.

Anyways, great job - on all of your work! It's fun to see what you come up with next.
