Description So, I heard it's a pretty good job, being a comic book artist. My boss says I can quit my job if I can land a publishing deal. Shit is though, I can't get more than a page done in a week, and then sometimes I wait a month to do the next. Anyway, I'm starting page six ATM. good luck to me.

I love it! Take your time with it!

Perhaps it takes so long while having a dayjob?

I'd say the dayjob is part of the problem, the other part is procrastination/inexperience. I think I'm getting the hang of it the more I do, though [link] after that page, I got one more, totalling 8. Then it goes to the word-bubbler, we finish that, and start over. Hopefully with a better idea of what we're doing.

One thing that gives a good kick in the butt is deadlines: give yourself an imaginary deadline and try to push you a bit, say f.e. x-mas as a due date, and kick out some pages until then. Or as a "real" deadline look up a comic con in your near and say you wanna print your comic until then and visit the con to give it out or sell in the frontdoor of the con together with lousy sausages and popcorn(yeah, they sell popcorn at cons, i've seen it, bathed in the smell of it) and if you can't make it and there's still missing pages, no loss: at least you made some more pages.
Something like that.
Or try to get into anthologies. Those come mostly to you so you don't have to wait at all and it's also no really loss if you can't make the deadline (i missed quite a bunch of deadlines with these ).
That new page rocks! The balloons in their wonkyness fit kinda well - i like!

that's all good, bro. I should sell sandwiches outside the comic cons.

Slick like rick.

Are you still sending me a pencil so I can pretend to be a professional tracer?

I've got something for you, almost done. I had another thing, but one day I got over-enthusiastic and started inking the pencils that were supposed to go to you...

Just wing it, no layouts. Blue Pencil, Pencil, Ink, Scan, color.
multiply ink layer, color in flats, new layer for shadows and highlights. usually: blues one day, pencils another day, inks another, scan, flats one day, highlights and shadows another couple of days.

Nice, the digital still looks like your paint/marker work. What about story/plot/dialogue? Do you have any plans on that? Is this supposed to be a commercial project or is it more like a portfolio piece so you can show people what you can do?
