Did this when I finished the Bartimaeus trilogy. (The unfinished version is in my scraps.) Goooood books, go read them! This is Nathaniel(left) and Bartimaeus as Ptolemy. I don't like this particular pic as well as the one I drew from the 2nd book, but I'm pleased with how Bartimaeus/Ptolemy (the BOY, he is not a girl) turned out. ^_^***spoilers spoilers spoilers*********
So I thought the ending was just beautifully tragic, but extremely hard to portray. Nathaniel is very difficult to render...this is supposed to be when he dismisses Bartimaeus just before Nouda crashes down on him and he makes everything explode. Bartimaeus (though I originally planned on it just being plain Ptolemy) is looking back the way that Ptolemy did - excited and optimistic about learning from Bartimaeus. Hopefully I got somesort of good rendition of this.

I love the Bartimaeus Trilogy. :3 The ending made me cry, though. D: My god... Nat TOTALLY made up for the git he was in book two. I constantly have Barty's line "I think he rather knew anyways" and/or Nat's "Say hello to Kitty for me" running through my head and any given timeΒΉ.
You did a really wonderful job on this picture.

I kinda miss bartimeaus. And even nathanial. Kitty to in all her spunky glory.

Bartimaeus reminds me of Moglie (u know from the jungle book) but it still looks AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ^-^

Everything about this is so lovely, especially the facial expressions, the soft shadows and the atmosphere. It's a great rendition of that scene.

Omg I seriously cried at this part! Nice rendering, Stroud isn't very good at describing characters, though you did a great job! I think his hair might be a little longer
