Description The sly, playful seal and oddly loyal companion to the demon dragon Ketos himself, Spots

Height: 45 meters (when fully reared)
Length: 190 meters
Mass: 90,000 tons
Rank: 3

Description:
One of the most playful of all kaiju, Spots is an oddity among his fellow giants. While most other monsters purposely attack or avoid Man, Spots seeks us out for the purpose of entertainment. He is a curious and childlike beast, investigating and frolicking around ships. Despite his enormous fangs and predatory nature, the seal has never quite been feared or hated. His friendly demeanor and constant grin are charming, and the silly monster considered more of a global pet than a menace. It is not only his good attitude that wins over hearts though. Despite his usual aloofness, Spots can be vicious and merciless in battle. To threaten him or his playmates is a very dangerous game. He may not look like much, but his natural abilities and intellect make him a force to be reckoned with. This readiness to defend friends- people included- have also helped to further his good reputation as far as kaiju go. He is more elongated and more serpentine than other seals, very snake- or ell-like in shape. This lengthy build and his ragged fins make some believe he- or perhaps kin he might have or have had- could be responsible for the idea of sea serpents. His name comes from Alex Shepheard, who spontaneously nicknamed the seal when reports of his initial appearance arrived at the G.A.K.F.

Spots is a very social monster and has many companions he plays with, like Suris, Skex, and Serker. He can often be found chasing and playing with these fellow aquatics. But, strangely enough, his favorite 'friend' is Ketos. It is not known why the marine mammal cherishes the cruel and hostile dragon so much, but it is hard to deny. Ketos considers Spots a horrible pest and often attempts to physically drive him away, but Spots is oblivious to the true nature of these angry assaults. He believes they are lighthearted games and happily plays along, much to Ketos's chagrin.

Powers:
-Big Teeth: Spots has enormous fangs and a powerful bite, and the seal has made a game or sort of hanging onto struggling foes as long as possible with these formidable chompers
-Bulk: Spots uses his great mass well in combat, slamming and tackling his full weight into foes; his elongated body can even wrap and constrict hostile beasts; his squeezes are not comparable to the likes of Queen Coil or Quetzar, but are more than enough to hold foes still for more damaging attacks; his three-finned tail is also quite useful as a clubbing weapon, like a blunt, rounded war hammer or rubber mallet
-Breech: Spots can launch his whole body from the water like a rubbery missile, either ramming foes from below or landing atop them with jaws wide open
-Thick Fat: Spots is protected by a thick layer of fat that lies beneath tough hide, making it hard to seriously harm him
-Sleekness: Spots is smooth and slippery, making it extremely difficult to hold onto; combined with his agile swimming, he is practically untouchable in his element
-Unexpected Intellect: Spots is one of the most intelligent kaiju in existence, able to analyze and take advantage of most situations; it may be hidden by his antics and playing, but he is a cunning predator and fighter; if anything, his silly attitude helps him, making his smarts hard to detect and anticipate, a hidden trump card over cocky foes

Weaknesses:
-While more mobile on land than most seals due to an odd form of locomotion between a slither and a shamble, Spots is still fairly slow and clumsy out of the water
-Doesn't separate fights and playing; won't make the kill unless his own life depends on it

Bio:
As Ketos was brutally savaged by Maelstrom, Spots revealed himself to the world by attacking the hideous chimera. Quickly seeing that the alien-made beast couldn't defend itself from bellow very well, the clever seal attack the monstrosity's underside. Following Spots's example, Ketos and the seal managed to tear away all of Maelstrom's tentacles, sending the beast back to the depth. Ketos tried to scare off Spots with a few blast of superheated water, but the seal actually found this entertaining. Much to the dragon's irritation, Spots has followed him about ever since.

Spots and Ketos were swarmed by the Nentuson Beats when Typhon was deployed, trying to keep them from joining the battle. But Spots, always happy to help, joyfully took on the whole swarm and allowed Ketos to go and confront High Strider.

Spots was seen playfully nipping at Barb after Ketos savaged the stingray. He didn't actually hurt the bloodied beast though, showing a clear ability to give mercy.

Spots and Ketos tracked down Tannyus as he descended back to the cold waters he called home, but the two didn't dare attack the gargantua. Even the laid back seal was intimidated by the titan.

When Ketos was targeted by Oscar and Avenger, Spots was distracted by a team of boats. It was the only way to perevnt him from helping his companion.

Following Ketos as loyally as ever, Spots also took part in a great ocean battle, interrupting the combined force of Barb and Serration against Plume. While Ketos took on Barb again, Spots helped Plume against Serration. The fight ended when Tannyus appeared, killing Bard and chasing after a crippled Serration.

Spots followed Ketos into Giant's Gate Three, although he was meant to be left alone. Ketos often chases him with intent to harm as a form of entertainment. He thinks it's a game.

When Ketos was caught in a battle with both Serker and Suris, Spots came to his aid, causing a distraction that allowed the dragon to flee. Despite this initial encounter, the seal has often joined the shark in playful games. Suris is aware of his connection to Ketos, but tolerates this, finding him an excellent playmate and honorable monster.

When Ullraldi made his move against Earth, Ketos set out to hunt the Ice Tyrant down, Spots tagging along. The pair met up with Suris, who Ketos grudgingly allowed to join them. But soon their path was blocked by Moabs, the titan charged with stalling them by her insane master. Distracting the behemoth, the shark and the seal allowed Ketos to slip past her and continue towards Ullraldi. The whale tried to give chase, but Spots and Suris attacked, drawing her attention away again. In over their heads with the undersea tank, the duo were lucky that Tannyus and Murthrax appeared to challenge her.

Well, it's about time leopard seals had their place in kaijudom. He's a bit plain in looks, but his fun personality more than makes up for it. I bet Ketos "loves" his new little buddy. LOL

His plainness is why I now try to describe and show him as more serpentine, almost like a sea serpent, and added a sea lion-like form of terrestrial locomotion.

And yes, Ketos isn't very pleased to have a tagalong, but he secretly enjoys Spots's company. Not that he'll EVER admit it though.

So he's more elongate than a typical leopard seal: got it. Though to be able to move like a sea lion ie "walking", his rear flippers would have to be somewhat more muscular, and pointed forward and outward, a bit like feet.

I thought just as much. LOL

Ah, leopard seals, I was planning one myself eventually for very similar reasons, though now I think I'll need to get a bit more creative when her time comes.

Yep, he's based off a leopard seal. Always found the fine line between playfulness and viciousness in them interesting.

Tell me about it. Favorite seal... well, maybe. I debated a seal Kaiju before, but I didnt see it ending quite well.

I was a bit iffy, but tried it anyway. I have to say I'm quite pleased with the result- a monster that could be vicious and feral, but still intelligent and curious.

And the idea of Ketos having him as an unwanted tag-along is just great.

I think its great, though. Seals are original and had lots of potential. Even Rosie is part Seal.

Walrus are in the seal family last I checked, though.

They are. But it's like saying Ookondoro the Giant Conoder (from Godzilla vs. The Sea Monster) is part Penguin.

hm, point proven. Still, its an original part of the creature. Far as I know, no one ever used a Walrus
