roulette for of her character Myse.I used a lot of bruise colors in the background and the figure; hence the name. And the character strikes me as having a sense of pathos about him.
I wanted to go more emotive than natural on the colors. Usually I think a lot about local color and how to accurately shade and highlight. In this case, I just began to put down what I felt would look nice. The result is dully kaleidoscopic, but ultimately very pleasing. I fought with it a little bit but as soon as I put some burnt umber into the deep shadows, it really popped. The scan does not do it justice at all. >B(

Roulette means - random drawing done for someone who says I'll take one? I recall you putting up a notice on your journal some time back and figure these are the result. What I wonder more is how you come up with such a composition? Did the creator ask for it, tell you details of the character, or is this entirely Hibbary?
You show mastery of composition in this one. The eye is drawn by the seedling and must move outward. I enjoy your descriptions on how you do these pieces as much as the final project - those who draw and paint must enjoy even more!
