Edit: Wait. This is an opportunity for a great story. Once upon a time I had a dream that I was hanging out with Marik. He was expressing some kind of overblown fear of Atem coming to get him. I told him he was 'being pharaohnoid'. Woke up and laughed myself silly that I made puns in my sleep. I can hear Windfalcon groaning from here.
Another Edit: Guys, I hate the Abridged series. I think it's stupid. But what I hate most about the Abridged series is how fans feel this need spam comments for images that obviously have nothing to do with Abridged. It's incredibly rude. I know artists who even LIKE the series who are fucking tired of having that bullshit fill up their pages. I don't care if you like it and I'd never come onto your Abridged submissions and make a big stink, so don't bring that crap to my table.

I was so struck by this piece at Anthrocon, I had to grab it--and I had no idea it was a piece of fanart from Yugioh! This painting is so gorgeous--the intense stare just struck me, and kept me coming back to look at it again and again. Thank you for the giving me the chance to own a lovely piece of your work!

I don't dislike the Abridged(littleKuriboh) as they tend to make puns all the time like that.
There are just stupid abr episodes but some of them are quite funny. We all cherish the original of course.

I don't often, but that amused me.
I used not to give a fuck about Abridged but now I feel nothing but antipathy because people can't keep it to themselves. Worst, most cancerous fandom ever for completely taking over the original material. I can't upload a single fucking thing without getting Abridged zombies vomiting that crap throughout the comments. If I look at a piece of fanart I approach it on its own terms, its creator's particular spin, and I expect other people to do me that courtesy as well. I don't steamroll it with someone else's fanverse. That's shitty.
It's stupid, and *really* not worth getting upset about, but I can't help but get a bee all up in my bonnet because any kind of spin-off I might want to do won't be taken at its own terms and it's a lot of wasted effort, no matter how interesting I think it might be.

Hmm, yes. I understand what you feel now with those words.
It is the feeling of wanting the original/serious thing but people keep
talking about some other popular thing you don't want to be spammed about.
Atleast the forward thing you did is put your opinion on it so you wont' get too many annoying spams from people
quoting the abr series.
But hey, I think people in the younger age range can't keep it to themselves very well if that helps you feel a bit better about it.
With jokes and convincing voice acting, characters tend take on a new image and voice in their head.
You'll sadly find it blasted all over the place on youtube- even non-funny quotes, but I think
kids laugh more easily about it so it tends to get imprinted better on them.
Can't say I didn't do or say quotes with people who knew it when I was younger as well as other things or comics.
It spanned on the internet/YT so much, that the guy got banned and more people started making
their own abr series on just about everything. Some quotes made it into meme's and the characters
don't even have to show up for many people to think of them such as Abr Kaiba's most popular quote.
So yes on the infectious part. xD
I think a good thing you might do is type in a LOUD BOLD for a spin-off art you want to do and
state that you ,"want the comments about the original/this particular artwork and not any abr series/fandoms, -thanks". You can even try an H1 if you must.
I think that should leave you pretty comfortable showing your artwork and prevent like 90%+ of the fandom spams because most of them won't skip it without
reading them in the description as they are scrolling down to comment. It is another thing if they are using a phone, but most people here tend to use the original site with the description
visible.

Ha ha what I NEED to do is just not be annoyed by it. Nerds are going to nerd whether I like it or not. But you know, if I get to be able to be spiteful about ONE THING it might as well be as stupid and pointless as a really bad television show and its really bad spin-off.
I'm really not as angry as I think my text seems to imply. More irritated than anything. I use language facetiously in a way that doesn't convey well in text unless people know me.
Having a big assmad sad about it has made me feel better, actually. I just needed to vent and kick my legs and beat my arms, I think.

I've heard life is too short to be angry, but I suppose it is frustration venting more than anything.
And it isn't a bad thing in short states because it helps you tackle the problems from another perspective.
Sometimes being frustrated so much about small things makes the day un-enjoyable so,
it would be a good choice to keep it the shortest possible.
As I've seen your comments over the years, I figured as much.
I have a some friends whose comments seem to have a similar effect with a razor sharp tongue you
don't want lashing on you, but you know they have a big heart.
We all vent out in a form or another at some point.
I try to take it out on frequent stretching or personal doodles when I do notice they last more than normal- ahaha.
I sometimes do it in comments as "informational vents" on YT, but I try not to.
