I should be doing homework... instead I spent the last 3 hours doing THIS.Kill me now.
Okay so how this all started, was my friend got me some G3 MLP stickers for... um... I don't know actually. Christmas probably. And the stickers were of each of the Core 7 (who I'm not familiar with.) So I went to find out who the two I didn't know were and I saw the G3 Fluttershy and Applejack and though THEY'RE SO CUTE I NEED TO DRAW THEM.
So then I decided to draw the G4 Mane Six... except as the G1 ponies they were based on.
So if you're like me and you barely know the ponies before G4 (except for Ivy cuz Ivy is mah boi), they are
Surprise
Glory
Twilight
Firefly
Applejack
Posey
And Spike of course.
I actually watched Rescue at Midnight Castle before I drew this, and Spike is so freaking cute in it X3
Also drawing the rainbow was fun.
OKAY so like 30 of you have told me that Sparkler is Rarity's G1 counterpart, not Glory.

What's funny is, Lauren Faust said that Glory was part of the inspiration as well as Sparkler. (I've also heard that Majesty was an inspiration too, but I haven't been able to find where that was said, if indeed it was.) Glory definitely is in there, if the fact that they look exactly alike wasn't enough of a clue for everyone. It's just the personality that's more of a match (we didn't get a great deal on either of them in canon, but in Rescue at Midnight Castle, Glory was a skating daredevil. In the UK comics, Sparkler liked shiny things to the point of obsession. Personality-wise, it's easy to see which one grew into the fashion designer. But it's no accident that she looks like Glory.)
Of course, people make the mistake of thinking that because Glory looks like Rarity, she must be like Rarity. Glory's moves say otherwise.
Anyway, it looks great!

i dont much care if Sparkler or Glory is the G1 counterpart
i know its sparkler but i like All G1 it will always be th best gen to me as i grew up watching it X3

I'm happy to see some G1 that are NOT in G4 style. I don't understand why there's so much hate for this generation, but I think part of it has to do with the Idiot Bronies (or the Crazies as I like to call them) trying to compare both shows by today's standards, which you can't really do, because the standards were different thirty years ago than they are today.
I just want to say something about the whole Rarity/Sparkler/Glory thing (don't hurt me, please!) I realize Sparkler is Rarity's counterpart, but in all honesty, I don't blame you for using Glory, because Rarity looks more like Glory, imo.

There's some weird mindset among fans (of everything) that if they like one thing, they have to loudly and proudly hate something else. I don't understand it at all. It's not that hard to like two things, guys.

I dunno. Rarity is almost a perfect incarnate or Sprakler rather than Glory, but I guess it doesn't matter so much, since Glory seemed to be around more often.
Anyway, this is a pretty sweet piece and probably the best attempt at this I've seen. I mean, it's pretty much perfect.

Some people say Glory, some people say Sparkler, I think you're the first one who's ever suggested Majesty.
It's probably some combination of two or three of them.

I think the idea of Majesty comes from how Spike is Majesty's friend in the playset and well, you know, G4's Spike wants to be with Rarity despite being Twilight's pet, pretty much.

I don't think it was too girly, maybe a little more than the current one but not terrible.I mean I guess they beat the guy with a piece of a rainbow or something but I thought it was pretty cool.
